Run Breckland

Whilst Thetford Athletics doesn’t have a connection to do with the organisation of Run Breckland running events, we do like to support local organisations and community events.

Parkrun

Thetford parkrun was launched on 23rd February 2013, with 88 participants.

You can find further information on the Theford parkrun page – (link https://www.parkrun.org.uk/thetford/)

Thetford parkrun is a FREE weekly 5k event for participants of all standards, which takes place every Saturday at 9:00am in Abbey Meadows, Thetford, Norfolk, IP24 1BB.

It offers an opportunity for all the local community, regardless of age or gender, to come together on a regular basis to enjoy the outdoors and get physically active. We want to encourage people to run, jog, walk and volunteer together – this event is truly open to all and best of all it really is FREE!

Every runner has a permanent results page which provides a complete history of all their runs. Find yours by selecting your name from a recent race result.

Breckland Leisure Centre junior park run was launched on 20th October 2019, with 52 participants.

You can find further information on the Breckland Leisure Centre junior parkrun page – (link https://www.parkrun.org.uk/brecklandleisurecentre-juniors/)

Breckland Leisure Centre junior parkrun is a FREE 2km event for juniors of all standards, which takes place every Sunday at 9:00am in Breckland Leisure Centre, Croxton Road, Thetford, IP24 1JD.

The junior parkrun is a great way to get involved and introduce yourselves to a sport without any of the normal outside pressures. A great way to improve health, confidence and to enjoy a great location. It can also be part of getting fit for sport for your school or to train for a specific target such as the Mini-Marathon trials, or for a full 5k parkrun distance. In short, you are welcome to come along and have fun.
